Thence to our hotel in Marrakech, the Kenzie Farah Hotel.

Morocco 59

In the afternoon we went for a guided walk in the Souks. Anyone for a dress?

Morocco 60

Rather a nice looking street-lamp.

Morocco 61

Does anyone need a lamp shade?

This is in the Dyers’ Souk.

This is at the side of the main square, Djemaa El Fna. The carpets hanging from the top of the building are for sale.

This is the Koutoubia Minaret which, at nearly 70 metres high, is visible for miles around.

Morocco 65

The old City is surrounded by a wall with a series of gates.

Back at home, but with a foreign flavour, we had a performance by Voskresenije – whose name translates as “Resurrection” – a Saint Petersburg choir in Holy Trinity church. They included a performance of ‘Ae Fond Kiss‘, an arrangement of which had been written for them by Mr Blethers (and very good it was too!)

The first photograph is of the church before the singers appeared and then two photographs of the singers and their conductor. The orange glow is caused by the lights of the church.

Another photograph from inside the La Cathedrale St. Jean-Baptiste and can you spot the difference from the previous post? The photographs were taken on different days.
