Homecoming
26th January 2009
Because it’s the 250 anniversary of Burns, 2009 has been designated Homecoming Year in Scotland. I’m sorry to be cynical, but it has nothing to do with Burns, but a lot to do with trying to get more tourists in Scotland – no doubt a very admirable objective in itself.
I rather think that the ‘decorations’ could have been somewhat better than this.
I must admit though that Old Kirk Alloway does look pretty atmospheric.

The Old Kirk looks very spooky indeed!

It does look very atmospheric.
Now then. Cynicism, about a campaign run by politicians? Shurely not?!

Kudos, Bill! You caught these photos at *just* the right time with the right lighting and such to add to the atmospheric “feel”! Sorlil is right…it does have a bit of a spooky look to it!
I recently heard on the radio that many US college-age students are spending a bit of time studying in Scotland! (of all places!) I thought that was a rather interesting bit of news, for sure!

Katya – well, your US college-age students need to get a ‘proper’ education somewhere
