My daughter took this night-time sky picture from the back garden. The little white dots are the stars – the black blotches are artifacts caused by making the picture lighter.

These photographs were taken with my camera, but by my daughter and at night. They are either of the garden or from the garden.

I wasn’t sure of this photograph with the fence in the foreground so much in focus, but my daughter liked it. It was taken later in the day from the Tesco car park overlooking Ayr Racecourse.

This is the nearest we got with a sharp frost on the 27th. I photographed the blue bin just for Katya.

To all my readers, my best wishes for a happy and peaceful 2008 Christmastide.
All of the images are from within Holy Trinity Church in Ayr and were taken before, during and after the Carols by Candlelight service at 23.00 last night. Excuse the blurring effects, but I wasn’t using flash for obvious reasons.

Sorry. No current photograph today either. I’ve been to busy getting the ‘kids’ home for Christmas and going to the Christingle service in our church (as well as Carols by Candlelight at 23.00 and midnight Eucharist following).
This was a photograph I took in March 2006 in the Logan Botanical Gardens in the Mull of Galloway. The frog is under water, so I’m quite pleased with the sharpness I achieved.

I didn’t have time to get a local photograph today, so here is a photograph from my archives of 2005. It was taken just above Cairnbaan in Mid-Argyll and shows cup and ring markings, probably dating from the Bronze Age, engraved onto flat stones on the hill-side.

Since others have been showing off their decorations, I thought I’d show our tree.
The first photograph was taken with the camera on automatic setting …

… whilst the second was adjusted for a night-time photograph.
