These photograph were taken in the church we go to – Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Ayr – just after the end of the Christingle Service. We feel that really marks the beginning of Christmas.

A happy and blessed Christmas to everyone.

To all my readers, my best wishes for a happy and peaceful 2008 Christmastide.
All of the images are from within Holy Trinity Church in Ayr and were taken before, during and after the Carols by Candlelight service at 23.00 last night. Excuse the blurring effects, but I wasn’t using flash for obvious reasons.

Thought I should show you a picture of the inside of Holy T. just after the service was completed.
We were all at the back enjoying Mince Pies and Mulled Wine {The links are for those who may not be conversant with U.K. Traditions}

The foundation stone of the current Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Ayr was laid in 1887 and the new church opened in 1888; this on the site of the church originally opened in 1839.
The design was by John Loughborough Pearson, RA, who designed mainly in England. His original ideas for a tower and spire (almost certainly very tall and very sharp) were not followed up and the current tower and ‘spire’ was added in 1964, 76 years after the church opened.
