15th March 2010
I make no apology for posting this view of the mountains of Arran. The ever changing light means I never see the same thing twice.

Back to home territory and Culzean Country Park for a brisk, sunny but coolish walk.
Three views:
Arran of course from just beside the Home farm.
Then the Castle from the same place.
From further down the cliff path a view of Paddy’s Milestone.

I put on the big lens and took a few distance shots.
I couldn’t miss the opportunity of photographing Arran again!
Then I moved slightly southwards to take the southern end of the Mull of Kintyre. The low section slightly left of centre is where Campbeltown and Machrihanish are.
Moving slightly further south and the coastline of Northern Ireland can be seen on a clear day.

Well actually about 10.00 on the 2nd of February. I just wanted folk to see that Arran isn’t always blessed by beautiful sunshine!

I’ve been looking at some of the negatives taken by my late parents-in-law on the Isle of Arran.
This is from 1946.
This from 1950.
This from 1951.

30th January 2010
I actually managed to find some time yesterday for photographing and the weather was fine if a little cold – well the wind was cold anyway!
These were taken from the Car Park on the esplanade at Seafield in Ayr.
This is looking out over the sand towards Arran.
This is the same scene but zoomed in.

Another short video taken from the Millenium Bridge over the Doon, panning from Greenan Castle in the South over the Firth of Clyde with Arran looming out of the mist and onto Ayr Bay and the town of Ayr.

6th January 2010
We woke up on the morning of the 5th to find we’d had a fresh fall of snow on the hard-packed snow/ice already there.
The first two photographs are from the back garden.
Later on we were down beside the beach. I’ve never seen snow lying there before.
